11:51a IMA GA SONO TOKI DA!
So I went to midnight mass, did a lot of thinking. Something became apparent to me that should have been obvious a long while back (yes, this is a "HE CAN BE TAUGHT!" post, please bear with me here)...
I swore that I'd never take anything for granted again. But I have. I took something very precious and took it completely for granted. After a late-night talk that went on until about 2:30am, I became very aware I had fallen victim to the cliche of "Looking for something when it's right in fucking front of your stupid ass".
SO! This is a new year coming up, no, a new DECADE! (Please, no Kamen Rider references just yet!) There will BE NO CHANGES. There will be IMPROVEMENTS. I started this naval career as a good person, and thanks to The Ghost of Christmas Possible I've realized just how much I've changed in negative ways - this must be dealt with immediately. I was a good person, with a good heart and a good soul. I lost my Tao, I lost my Way, I lost touch with who I was and what I believed in. But not anymore. Coming back here was a wake-up call - it's time to re-initiate the metamorphosis. I will not tolerate the loss of anyone or anything precious to me anymore. I said I was going to pierce the heavens and grasp my future with both hands, but it seems as though my grip was slipping. Not anymore. The time for words is at an end. Nothing more on this subject shall be said. Now is the time for ACTIONS. So let it be written...so let it be DONE! Merry Christmas, and get ready to see why just when you've got me figured out...there's more to Oni than meets the eye. ^_~

I hate my parents, they say they never are able to get many gifts and all of a sudden surprise big stuff comes X^D Every year <3
Anyway!
*Two pairs of new jeans. *A new Yankees hat to replace my old dirty one. *A nice Joba Chamberlain (Yankees pitcher) jersey from my godsister. *2009 Topps Complete Baseball set. *A 16 GB memory stick. Whoops, I asked for a Memory Stick Pro Duo (for my PSP) X^D Mom will return it. *A nice assortment of various old and new baseball cards in a box. *New Super Mario Bros. Wii *A Motorola Droid to replace my old phone (I was due for an upgrade this month!). *Bluetooth headset, snap-on cover, and car charger for said Droid. *A 120 GB PS3 Slim. It may be slim but it's kinda heavy pff. *A new 22" LCD HD flatscreen TV to replace my slightly dying old standard def. TV. NOW I CAN PLAY BANJO KAZOOIE AND READ ALL THE LETTERS! 8D

as it's now past midnight.. MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE! ^__^ wheee~!
in keeping with will's family's tradition, we've already opened our presents and eaten the christmas dinner (as tomorrow will be spent with the grandmother and other relations). we've also had a drive around the town to ohh and ahh at the christmas lights. ^^
also got to video chat with my family over skype earlier this afternoon, which was lovely as i really miss them, especially at this time of the year. ^x; but yeah, this christmas was easier then last year when it comes to that.. tho' i'd love to spend a christmas with them again in the next few years. plus the video link let my parents meet will's parents more or less face to face for the first time. me mum got to practise her french. :p
in a few days the weather should be 'warmer', so the snow will be wet enough to make snowmen! right now it's far too dry and powdery to stick together. oo white christmas~!

9:40a Dante's Inferno demo on PSN and Xbox Live.
OK, I haven't been following the game much, but to me it was shaping up to be a God of War rip-off...and it is. I mean it so bloody blatant in the game it's not even funny. I mean the red cross Dante has on him? That's not on a shirt, that's on his skin....for no reason aside for to make him look kind of like Kratos. You have the undead enemies with swords, giant enemies you can beat up then ride. Hell it even had characters who remind me of the Satyr's from God of War, a long with the unique take downs for each enemy. I mean...if I hadn't played God of War I would like this, and to be fair it seems to do a decent job of aping the gameplay style and wrapping it in Christian imagery, but it's just so blatant I can't give a shit.
That said if you don't own a PS3, well it seems like a half decent way to play a game like God of War I suppose. If you do, just wait for God of War 3.
Thing that got me though was how unlike-able Dante is. I don't mean in the case of "he is a nasty piece of work," Kratos is and I love that psychotic bastard. I mean in the sense he comes off like a really whiny little git "Satan stole my wife and I gotta go save her? Aww maaaaaaaaaan..." and then he seems to go and slaughter things like he really doesn't care. Whereas if this was Kratos, he'd shout defiance at the devil while flipping him of, pick up an enemy and start beating up other guys with it, then start slaughtering while being very very angry and enjoying every damn minute of it.
Then he'd kill the Satan and take his stuff, turn towards God and say "You're next!"

10:00p What a blockhead.
Shortpacked!: Obsolete Translation of Scripture Theatre
Yeah, these days they translate "axe" to "carving tool," and the context makes it more apparent they're talking about idols, but does it really matter whether you take a knife to your tree before you take it indoors and put lights on it?
I don't actually care. But today's comic strip was too good an idea to pass up.
So my Winston's already kinda broken. The hose to his ecto-gun snapped off at the backpack when I wasn't looking. Well, fuck. Do I order another one before he sells out? Or do I save myself $30 and just tuck the end of the tube behind his back?
Dammit.
But he's caught himself a spooky skeleton guy! Look! Sure, he's not actually a ghost, but I won't fault Winston for thinking so. He's not gonna fit in that trap, though....
Speaking of Bludgeon, he features prominently in a new prose story from the Transformers Collector's Club that was released today! It's a Classics story, which means it takes place at the end of the Marvel Comics continuity. If you're a member, log in and check out "At Fight's End."
There's also Seacons!
